My Political Prediction for 2012: It's Obama-Clinton

The ticket could generate some badly needed excitement for Obama and the Democrats. Does Obama have the gumption to make such a move? Probably not.

Bloomberg Releases Most Detailed Description Yet Of Federal Reserve Emergency Loans

You are right in every respect of course.

However, the mystery of the ages has to be: Why is Obama – and so many Democrats – supporting the Republican agenda.

Perhaps it is because the president is a firmly entrenched member of the 1%. Perhaps it is because he is looking out for the interests of his rich friends. Perhaps he covets their money – lusting for it now and in his post presidential years.

Should he be reelected we will learn his true colors. In all likelihood those colors won't differ much from those he has already shown.

Jews for Christmas, or How to Make the Holidays Less Blue

A very nice thought. Christmas is and should be a secular holiday - for those who wish to observe in that way. I would venture to say that for a very large number of Christians, the holiday if far, far from a religious celebration.

Due to some fiction called the “war on Christmas”, many Christians seem to take offense at not being wished “Merry Christmas:” in public. This fiction of course is a blatant attempt to inject the Christian religion into the holiday season and shove it down everyone's throats. Sadly, this childish insistence maybe be one reason some non-Christians refuse to join the celebrating.

I myself prefer to say “enjoy the holidays”, unless in church where I have noticed for many years now that no one - no one - ever wishes “Merry Christmas” except in response to my own greeting.

Want to observe the real “war on Christmas” close and upfront? Venture out into what I call the “Christmas asteroid belt.” If you've ever gone shopping on a weekend during the holidays, you get my drift. If there's anything to be grateful for during this season, it's returning home safely after a foray into the mall. Every year, it seems, a few never return.

I'm particularly fond of holiday invitations – gathering together with friends and relatives. Occasionally these visits will produce a “religious experience.” Not to worry though. I am always the designated passenger.

Enjoy the holidays - everyone.

Obama Aides: Keystone Pipeline Inclusion 'Is Absolutely Not A Blink'

An eyesore constructed across a magnificently beautiful landscape is one good reason. Do you really need another reason?

The oil companies have stubbornly avoided constructing new refining capacity - the preferred method in this case - in order to maintain rigid control of supply and therefore price. That is the reason for the pipeline in the first place.

Obama Aides: Keystone Pipeline Inclusion 'Is Absolutely Not A Blink'

Petroleum sold in a "free" market??? I here that nonsense all the time. You may want to read up on OPEC and monopolies - the very essence of a rigged marketplace.

Also, refinery capacity rigidly controls supply. When supply is controlled versus rising demand, you may recall, prices will rise.

But don't feel bad. I've heard economists with masters degrees refer to the "free" market in petroleum. Obviously they have been thoroughly brainwashed beginning with Economics 101.

I suspect control of supply is one reason for the pipeline in the first place. To put another refinery on line, for example, would increase the supply of gasoline – a no-no when your goal is price control.

Obama Aides: Keystone Pipeline Inclusion 'Is Absolutely Not A Blink'

The Cornell study of the Keystone pipeline project estimates that only about one half of the total jobs claimed by the oil industry will be created. Most of those will be temporary and will be filled by out of state workers.

Most of the pipe will be imported.

The oil will be exported so as not to increase supply in the US and Canada.

The oil companies will pay for the cost of constructing the pipeline by passing those costs along to consumers in the form of higher gas prices.

The pipeline project makes good sense only for oil company profits and that is why it will eventually be built.

And in the end, the consumer will pay for the pipeline through higher gas prices. A win-win for the oil companies and all the corrupt officials who took the money and ran.

By the way, the legislation is a win for Obama who can now make the lame claim that Republican baddies made him do it. And oh, he can claim his share of the campaign boodle that comes with signing the legislation into law.

John McCain: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico Could Be 'Up For Grabs' In 2012

The electoral vote break down looks extremely difficult for Obama to overcome.

Here's my take for what it's worth.

196 – Firmly Dem or leaning

224 – Firmly GOP or leaning

118 – Tossup

The GOP candidate needs only Florida (27) and Pennsylvania (21) to seal the deal.

Given this scenario the GOP won't need the southwestern states that are still considered a tossup.
