There is some truth to what you say. But Obama naively tried to compromise with the GOP even when one of its leaders declared that his job was to make the president a one termer.
Obama should have demanded much more from Republican
s, fought harder for his demands and, quite possibly, would have won a greater stimulus. And yes the recovery would be farther than it is.
However, he badly miscalcula
ted the resistance of the Republican
s and received horrible economic advice from a handful of the advisers he appointed. He may well yet pay the price for that incompeten
t advice.
